Dad wasn't religious. He believed once you died - that was it ! No Heaven no Hell or Afterlife but he did tell me of an incident that happened to him on his way to work one night.At the time he was working, as a miner, at Seaham Colliery. It was very early in the morning and still dark and he was walking on a deserted street when all of a sudden he bumped into something that wasn't there. As he sat on the ground he heard a laugh from above him where if he was real a man's head would have been.Dad said he got to his feet and ran like a whippet to work not looking back.When he got to work someone said to him,"What's wrong with you Dickie ? You look like you've just seen a ghost"!
